Tarascon Publishing is always looking to expand our medical reference offering. We currently offer print, mobile and online resources in the following areas:
All versions of the Tarascon Pharmacopoeia are updated and published each year. They contain the most up-to-date contents of our drug information database at that year’s press deadline. Some subsequent updates do occur during the course of each year as part of our multiple periodic printings.
Our drug database is updated weekly. Subscribers of the Tarascon Pharmacopoeia digital products receive these updates continuously throughout the year, each time they update or synchronize their mobile device.
Our other pocketbooks, including Tarascon Primary Care, Tarascon Adult Emergency, Tarascon Pediatric Emergency, Hospital Medicine and many others are updated on a traditional three year cycle, with some exceptions.
- Physician Orientation:
Unlike other drug references, entries in the Pocket Pharmacopoeia are written the way physicians think. We present the information doctors care about in the order they need it, and omit less relevant elements. Having an editorial board of peer reviewers largely comprised of physicians permits us to keep content in clinical perspective, prioritize information for readers, and present information in "doctor-talk."
- Accuracy & Quality:
Our staff are meticulous in their writing and reviewing. All content is proofread several times over by multiple individuals before entering the Pocket Pharmacopoeia. The Tarascon team carefully follows all current drug information sources and literature to keep the work current and up-to-date.
- Expert Editorial Staff:
Drug information in the Pocket Pharmacopoeia is written by a panel of drug information experts and peer-reviewed by practicing clinicians representing all major medical specialties. Most of our board members are highly regarded academicians well known in their area of specialty.

The Mobile Editions of our pocketbooks are simply digital versions of our award-winning print books, with the only differences being mobile format and search functionality.
The goal of the Pharmacopoeia drug guides is to provide health professionals focused, core prescribing information in a convenient, organized, and concise fashion. We include FDA-approved dosing indications and in the Deluxe, Library, professional and digital versions, off-label uses that have a reasonable basis to support their use. We draw our dosing information from both formal FDA prescribing information and a wealth of other authoritative sources, for example: specialty society consensus documents, review articles in major journals and more.
The Pharmacopoeia is edited by a panel of drug information experts who continuously scan the literature to identify therapeutic advances. All of our content undergoes meticulous peer review using a panel of approximately 50 clinicians of multiple specialties.
Tarascon Publishing is independent from and has no affiliation with pharmaceutical companies. Although drug companies purchase and distribute our books and digital products as promotional items, the Tarascon editorial staff determines all book content.
There are entries for over 4,500 generic and trade drug names in the Tarascon Pharmacopoeia’s database, with more added almost every week.
We offer bulk discounts and customization options for both the print and mobile editions of the Pocket Pharmacopoeia and other Tarascon Pocketbooks on orders of 500 copies or more. For more information on placing a bulk and or custom order,
